I love it when I get the opportunity to design a little guest haven for clients with frequent visitors. I like to make the room serene and calm so it becomes a relaxing place for guests to unwind. I also love to add things like candles and a few books for them to get lost in.
Here a few shots I got from the guest room of one of my favorite clients home.

One King's Lane + Parvez Taj
One of the many things I love about being a member of One Kings Lane, is that I am introduced to so many new designers, artists and brands. Its wonderful to be exposed to such amazing things everyday...all from my desk!
One of their highlighted Artists this week is Parvez Taj from California. I am in love with the selection they chose from his most recent series. Particularly the bohemian patterns inspired by Moroccan tile, sailing shots and lake landscapes.
Here are a few of my favorites.
Bona Vista, Acrylic
Dreamhaven, Acrylic
Otter Lake, Acrylic
Kortoba
Kasbah

All in the Details
They say design is in the details and I couldn't agree more. I love to see spaces with little extra details that are so well thought out they can't help but stand out.
Love the papered ceiling.
Ash wood stairs and cast stone accent. Also love the aged metal rails.
Beautiful border on these drapes.
I love a contrasting welt on tailored furniture pieces.
Shutter style doors gives this mudroom some personality.
I die for this lucite drapery rod and rectangular brass rings! L.O.V.E.
Mint green painted trim.
The shapely trimmed shades take center stage in this bedroom - gorge!

Relaxed Retreat
What does a neutral palette provide a space when it has no color to appeal to the senses? There is a perfect answer for this question and it is clearly stated in this amazing home on the shores of Lake Martin (featured in Atlanta Homes Magazine). It begins with the natural wood beams and planks throughout the space, which exudes warmth and comfort. Add in striking architectural details, and a mix of finishes like metal, jute, stone and linen and you have a well balanced textural story. All of this, a spectacular lake view and a whole lotta white makes this lake home the most relaxing retreat! What better way to give your senses a little vacay?!

Hiya! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend! I am bummed its over. We actually spent the last 5 days in my home town in South Texas and it was so nice to get to spend so much time with my parents and family. I love getting to go home and sort of "recharge my battery." Work has been busy and we have been traveling a bit to see family so it was nice to have a little time to relax and catch up.
Speaking of catching up, I got myself caught up with all the latest Anthropologie has to offer these days. I am SO in love with these looks. These dresses are so chic and I love the bit ethnic edge!

Hello Handsome
As a Designer, my tastes should range far and wide and as I go through photos on my favorite blogs, pinterest, houzz and countless on-line mags, I am typically drawn to the more bright and airy interior photos. However, I do love a good masculine room. There is something so sophisticated about a room with minimal decoration, simple but elegant details and rich wood tones.

In the Deep Blue
What is it about a blue and white room that makes it so fresh, crisp and classic? Its that easy Ralph Lauren look where its well thought out and planned but effortless at the same time. I've blogged about this before so you can easily see that it has become one of my all time favorite classic color schemes.
